Free yoga classes in Clifton
A free weekly yoga class is now being run in Clifton thanks to the new community activity program, Energise.
The yoga class will run every Tuesday from 10am – 11am at the FE Logan Hall by a trained instructor.
The class is just one of the many free activities offered by Energise across communities in the Toowoomba region.
Energise is a Commonwealth funded project through the Department of Health and Ageing’s Healthy Active Australia Community and Schools grant program.
The program is delivered in the Toowoomba region by the Darling Downs Population Health Unit, Department of Communities (Sport & Recreation Services), Queensland Health, Safer Toowoomba Partnership Inc. and Toowoomba Regional Council.
The program’s aim is to promote fun, fitness and friendships amongst members of local communities.
Energise program coordinator Kate Groves said the free yoga class was a great opportunity for the local community to participate in a low-impact activity which helps to create a flexible and strong body.
A circuit training class is also run in Greenmount every Friday from 2pm – 3pm at the Bicentennial Memorial Park. Circuit training offers a variety of exercises to suit all fitness levels to help build overall fitness, strength and flexibility.
