Crows Nest gets a slice of the action

The free community activity program, Energise, has expanded its activity locations to now include Crows Nest.

A weekly Open Gym training class will now run every Thursday from 10.00am – 11.00am at the Crows Nest Indoor Sports Centre at the Showgrounds.

The Open Gym session involves working with a variety of gym fitness equipment with assistance from onsite trained staff.

The Crows Nest class is just one of the many free activities offered by Energise across communities in the Toowoomba and surrounding region.

Energise is a Commonwealth funded project through the Department of Health and Ageing’s Healthy Active Australia Community and Schools grant program.

The program is delivered in the Toowoomba region by the Darling Downs Population Health Unit, Department of Communities (Sport & Recreation Services), Queensland Health, Safer Toowoomba Partnership Inc. and Toowoomba Regional Council.

The program’s aim is to promote fun, fitness and friendships amongst members of local communities.

Energise program coordinator Kate Groves said she was very excited to be able to offer a free fitness activity in the Crows Nest community.
