Since the inception of the Energise program, I have very much enjoyed participating, particularly in the 50 years plus program. First and foremost, it has been a joy to work with Kate, our mentor and instructor. She is a great motivator and understands each of us and our struggles in detail. Her emphathy towards the older client is very well received by us all and we are most grateful for all the work she does and the friendship she gives us.
Not only have we progressed in our fitness and physical capabilities, but we have enjoyed the social contact with others. We encourage each other and celebrate in our successes. It is refreshing to wake up and look forward to our exercise knowing how much it benefits us by keeping us alert, co-ordinated and being more competent in our physical endeavours of our daily routines.
Since joining Energise I have received great benefits from the program. I now have good blood glucose control for my Type 2 Diabetes. I have lost 8 kilograms and gained muscle strength, stamina and flexibility. I feel strong and fit.
As a non-exercise person, I have to admit that the Energise program has surprised me. Our instructor is very conscious of the needs of people who are no longer young and, some like me, haven't and don't do a lot of exercise.
The program I am doing is varied. This helps to keep my interest, without too many changes to remember. I am now feeling fitter and as a person who lives alone, have found the social side very rewarding. Hopefully the Energise program will continue as it is very worthwhile and is benefiting a lot of people.
I have attended regularly and have really benefited from Energise. It has given me an opportunity for continuing physical exercise. Socially, it has also given opportunity for contact with other like-minded people - something that I really missed when I retired.
What a wonderful way to start the main part of the day. I enjoy meeting new people and the exercise is great. Since starting the Energise program, I have better balance and am a lot more active. I am now able to do light gardening. Every day tasks are easier to perform. Overall, just a wonderful program to have available to us older citizens.
The Mums and Bubs program is great. I find it hard to make time to exercise with a little one and this program is great as it allows you to exercise with your baby. It is very motivating. I love the interaction we do through movements and nursery rhymes.
I always look forward to going to Energise 50 years plus classes to keep fit and meet new people. The program has given me the confidence to get better because of the advantages of keeping fit.
I feel the Energise program is excellent. I've wanted to do Tai Chi for years but haven't been able to afford it - now I do it every week and love it. I also do a circuit class which I love too. I'm a much fitter and healthier person from doing them both. Also, the social aspect of it is a bonus. I've met quite a few friends from going to Tai Chi and Circuit.
We really enjoy the Energise program. The exercises are always beneficial to our health and make us feel alot better. We find the company of fellow participants and the instructor to be really supportive and considerate to our level of fitness. Overall, we really enjoy the program and would be sad to see it go.
